How Hand Gesture Tracking Works
Tunevate uses your device’s webcam and client-side computer vision to track 21 hand landmarks in 3D space with sub-millisecond precision. Here is how your hands shape chords, melodies, and sound parameters:
Select Fret Chords & Root Harmonics
Raise fingers on your left hand to hold down guitar chord shapes: 1 finger = I (Tonic), 2 fingers = ii (Supertonic), 3 fingers = iii (Mediant), 4 fingers = IV (Subdominant), 5 fingers = V (Dominant).
Physical Flick Strumming
Unlike piano or synth where notes sustain continuously, the guitar engine uses a physical strumming trigger: flick your right hand rightward to strike all strings in the chord simultaneously.

What is the difference between Guitar and Piano modes in Tunevate?
Piano and synth voices sound continuously as long as hand shapes are held. The Guitar voice uses a strumming style: silence until your strumming hand flicks, striking the chord once and letting it decay naturally, exactly like physical guitar strings.
Can I play bass guitar lines with hand gestures?
Yes. Choosing the Bass Guitar voice automatically sets the note policy to 'root', so your strum gestures isolate the deep fundamental bass note instead of playing full triads.
